What Our Parents Think About MLS...
LOVE THIS SCHOOL!
Mission Lutheran Preschool has been a second home for our family for over 10 years. We feel truly blessed to have had our three children spend their early childhood education at MLS. The longevity of the staff speaks volumes for the family like feeling there. Each teacher brings their own special gifts and talents to the classroom with an over abundance of love and grace. I would highly recommend Mission Lutheran Preschool to any family looking for a loving, nurturing, Christ centered environment for their child. – Kristen Spalding |
My son, Cole, was so blessed to have attended Kindergarten at MLS. He entered public school in the 1st grade and was beyond prepared both academically and emotionally. He is now in the 2nd grade, and I still feel that the foundation he received at MLS was invaluable and shows in his math, reading, and writing as well as his citizenship in the classroom. Ms. Mary, Ms. Kelly, and Ms. Monica are an amazing team, all with something awesome and unique to add to each child’s education. I am so grateful that he had one more year of this special environment and look forward to his other two siblings continuing on to kindergarten in the next couple of years. -- Kerry Villar |
The teachers are incredible and the spiritual development is priceless.
The first year of preschool is a big one--for the children and the parents! We cannot be more pleased with our decision to join the Mission Lutheran Preschool family. The loving, friendly, positive and spiritual environment has been more than wonderful. Our son is very proud of his school. Our somewhat reserved son has blossomed and absolutely loves school his teachers and friends, so much so that literally every single night at bedtime for the past year he ask to talk about school -- telling me all about what he did that day, what he liked, who he played with, what songs he sang in chapel, etc. and asking what he is going to do next time...He says school "makes me happy" and it makes us happy, too! The teachers and staff are wonderful and fabulous with the children. As a family we have absolutely loved all of the fun activities from PJ Story Night to Open House. We thank you for opening your arms to our son this year, and look forward to another great year!
We absolutely loved MLS! Thank you for a great year!
This is the Best school ever! Fantastic teachers, wonderful office staff, awesome spiritual enrichment. Loving and communicative. Great curriculum and enrichment programs. Love. Our son had the best year in the Orange Room. I don't know who will miss the teachers more...him or me. We LOVED Ms. Lynn and Ms. Teresa! They are the sweetest kindest teachers! |
What an amazing school the staff made it such a memorable time and we are so blessed to have found MLS! Ms. Angie and Ms. Leah were perfect this year. They really helped with his confidence and we are so grateful for all they have done!!! Thank you for everything!! We will miss being there next year! |
We love MLS! Great job! We appreciate you all so much! Thank you for all you do!
We have been so blessed to have both of our children attend Mission Lutheran School. I am so sad to leave such a nurturing and caring environment that I ALMOST wish I had another little one! I know my kids have been well prepared in their education and spiritual lives by this fabulous school. |
We had a wonderful experience at MLS this year and look forward to Pre-K next year. The faculty and staff are exceptional and I appreciate all of your hard work to make this school such a special place. |
We had a wonderful year at Mission Lutheran and wished we would have chosen this school for our daughter's first year, too. Our daughter has thrived and we enjoyed participating in daily chapel and other events. Thank you! |
Mission Lutheran is a great school and we could not have asked for a better place for our daughter to attend for preschool. We are so happy to be coming back to continue her advancement. Her self esteem and self confidence have come so far this year!
Mission Lutheran School was a big part of our lives for more than 5 years and our memories and experiences will be treasured forever. We have 4 boys that are 3 years apart and it was during their time at Mission Lutheran School that they began to form their perspective on the world. The Christ-centered education in the nurturing and loving environment taught them more than just how to read and write. It modeled Christian behavior; exemplified the Golden Rule and fostered a love of learning in each of them. The Kindergarten program is second to none and the staff has frequently heard us say that if the school offered a curriculum through middle school, we’d all still be there. Our boys are now in K, 2nd and 3rd grades and they graduated from Mission Lutheran with a foundation of skills needed to take on the challenges of a more demanding class schedule. We will be forever grateful to Cathy Estanislau and her wonderful teaching staff for their powerful imprint on our boys’ lives and we thank the Lord for guiding us to Mission Lutheran School. |
Our years at Mission Lutheran School, crowned by a year in Kindergarten, were fabulous foundational times for our shy daughter. She always felt loved and cared for, grew in confidence, and was surrounded by both staff and families that nurtured her both spiritually and academically. The facilities were safe and inviting and will now only be improved through the construction happening! Very important to us was the well-rounded full day program with emphasis on pre-reading skills (including but not only phonics). From Spanish to cooking, from the music program to the family events, this was a quality experience! The teacher/aide/student ration was also critical for our daughter. We felt that she would get lost in a larger environment and she just blossomed during her K year. She is now a tremendous reader and writer, in the Gifted and Talented program in Capo USD and we attribute much of her success to the solid base she received at Mission Lutheran. We couldn't close without saying that the chapel, prayer and spiritual guidance provided nurtured the whole child with song, community and love that we could only hope for ALL children as they start out their school years. We THANK and LOVE Mission Lutheran for the role they played in our lives and our daughter's growth! |
Thank you for giving our family such an amazing experience!!
Our experience at Mission Lutheran School has been so much more than we could ever have expected. The time our boys spent at Mission Lutheran has prepared them for life in ways that are absolutely priceless. Their Kindergarten year was really the icing on the cake! It’s rare to find a Kindergarten with as low of a student/teacher ratio as Mission Lutheran. The amount of love and attention that is poured out on these kids every day is amazing! Our sons grew in confidence by leaps and bounds in this setting. They have no fear of approaching the teacher and voicing themselves in the classroom and this can be credited to Ms. Mary and Ms. Kelly creating such a warm, loving classroom environment. Building their confidence is alone, a great reason to attend Kindergarten at MLS, yet the academics are an even better reason. The reading program is outstanding, as well as every other part of the curriculum that prepared my son for 1st grade exceptionally well. I was curious to see how he would adjust in the public 1st grade class with 32 kids, but he hasn’t skipped a beat and I know a large part of that was from MLS preparing him academically and socially. He went into 1st grade confident and did not feel overwhelmed by the school work. He could ease into the public school setting without the added stress of trying to keep up academically or feel overwhelmed in the classroom. The spiritual foundation MLS gives each child is unmatched. On top of teaching and exemplifying the love of Jesus, they have laid spiritual groundwork for important life lessons and memorized scripture relating to it. We are so thankful for sending our sons to Mission Lutheran Kindergarten. Thank you MLS and Ms. Kelly and Ms. Mary for blessing so many families and being Christ’s hands and feet in this world.

I am writing to tell you how thankful I am for Andrew's Kindergarten year at Mission Lutheran School. He is in first grade now at Laguna Niguel Elementary School and is extremely successful and feeling really good about himself. He loves school, and I know it is largely due to your Kindergarten program at MLS. With two teachers and only 12 students in his Kindergarten class, it was as if he had a one-on-one teacher all year. But not just any teacher, Miss Kelly and Miss Mary both are highly skilled teachers and easily could compete for "Teacher of the Year" in any school district throughout the country. They were awesome! Andrew's MLS Kindergarten experience was not just academically enriched but spiritually enriched as well. More important than learning to read, which he did easily in your Kindergarten program, Andrew learned each day how to live for Jesus. You don't get that teaching in the public schools! Starting each day with Chapel, praising God, was in my mind the best example (or teaching) that he received. That's how Jesus taught...by example. Lynda and I could have chosen to send Andrew to public school for Kindergarten, but we are so glad the Holy Spirit led us to choose MLS. Once again, thanks for making such a positive difference in our son's life. We feel extremely fortunate that our son, Mikey, attended Kindergarten at MLS for the 2008-2009 school year. (Both of our children attended, and deeply loved, preschool at MLS.) The MLS Kindergarten program is, in a word, phenomenal! The curriculum was top notch. The small student to teacher ratio and Christ centered approach was a major benefit to each individual child. And, Ms. Mary and Ms. Kelly worked tirelessly to teach all their students to love learning with kindness, great understanding, and patient hearts. Our Mikey is now attending public school and is excelling both academically and socially. He gained so much more overall confidence in his Kindergarten year at MLS. We thank the whole MLS staff for our fabulous experience. We love you all! |
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful Kindergarten experience my son, Kyle, had at your school during the 2006-2007 year. I have the unique perspective to compare my older son’s Kindergarten experience in public school to the superior experience Kyle had at Mission Lutheran School. Enough cannot be said about the class size ratio. In public schools, one teacher manages 30 kids in the course of the day. At Mission, two teachers have a maximum of 14 students. This 7 to 1 ratio gives the children such individualized attention that benefits them in all aspects of their experience including academic, social and spiritual learning. The academic curriculum is more advanced than public school and the children in my son’s class were all reading well by the end of the year at Mission. The incorporation of Christian education was wonderful. This crossed over into all aspects of the day and helped in learning social skills for my son. In addition, public schools are short days compared to the full day program offered at Mission. The Kindergarten teachers as well as the entire staff, is made up of kind and patient people. They truly cared about my child and were able to work closely with me to help my son succeed in all aspects of his education. The Kindergarten experience at Mission Lutheran School is so comprehensive that I would recommend it to any parent who wants to give their child the best education and set them up for continued success for years to come. |
I am the proud mom of two MLS “graduates”. Jennifer, in 3rd grade, and Max, in 1st, now attend Laguna Niguel Elementary School and are doing great, thanks in no small part to the nurturing and education they received at Mission Lutheran School. Both Jen and Max each spent four years at MLS, including Kindergarten. All of us in this in this geographic vicinity are fortunate to have good public schools available to us that offer Kindergarten but I made the decision to keep my children for that extra year at MLS because of the ratio of teachers to students and the overall small classroom size –just one look at the Kindergarten classroom tells you it provides a loving and intimate learning experience for its students. From an academic standpoint, both my kids were more than prepared as they entered their first grade classes in the public school system…but, more importantly, they had the confidence and social skills inspired through daily chapel time and the amazing attentiveness of their kindergarten teachers and MLS staff. The financial stretch we felt at the time in funding Kindergarten tuition at MLS was, in hindsight, money very well spent. I am so grateful for the academic, social, and spiritual foundation that MLS has given Jen and Max…it is evident in their progress today.
