Philosophy
Mission Lutheran Preschool and Kindergarten provides an opportunity for your child to interact with other children in a Christ centered environment. We offer a program designed to enhance their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual growth. With a “hands on” approach, the learning process is a fun one. Primary areas of development and creativity stressed in our program include motor skills, art, music, math, reading readiness and dramatic play. Our goal is to create an attitude of loving acceptance in which all children will learn to like themselves and recognize their uniqueness as one of God’s children.

Program Policies
Admission
Mission Lutheran operates on a non-
discriminatory basis, where all children are
welcome without regard to race, religion or
national origin. Enrollment is open to children 2
years 9 months through Kindergarten and must be
"potty-trained" prior to attending school.
Staff
We have a loving, dedicated, Christian teaching
staff here at Mission Lutheran. The staff has met
all the requirements of the State of California.
They are professionally trained in Early Childhood
Education and are CPR and first aid certified. We
are proud members of the Association of Christian
Schools International.
School Calendar
Our school program will be in session from
September through June. We observe the same
holidays as the Capistrano Unified School
District. Two or three additional days may be
scheduled without classes for parent conferences
and staff development. We are closed the week
April 5-9 2010 for Spring Recess, November 22-
26 2010 for Thanksgiving, Dec 20-31 2010 for
Christmas, and April 4-8 for Spring Recess 2011.
Health Requirements
The State of California requires a licensed
physician's certificate for each child upon
entrance. There will be a daily health check of all
children upon arrival. Children exhibiting any
symptoms of illness will be sent home. Only
prescription medication with written instructions
on the bottle and a parent's signature will be
dispensed to a child.
Chapel & Praise Day
A special time is set aside each day for the
children and staff to fellowship through music,
fingerplays, Bible stories and prayer.
Music, Motor Development
Our music program focuses on various rhythmic
activities through singing, body movement and
instruments. Our motor development program
enhances large motor development through a
wide variety of fun activities. This includes games
incorporating balance, coordination, skipping,
hopping and jumping.
Snacks & Lunch
We provide two nutritous snacks a day: One in the
morning and one in the afternoon. Two of the four
major food groups are served at each snack.
Lunch bunch time is from 11:30 - 12:30 with lunch
provided from home.
Enrichment Programs
Various extra-curricular fee- based programs
are offered after school hours. Children's
Choir, Webby Dance, Lango Spanish and
Abrakadoodle
Volunteers
We encourage parents to actively participate
in their children's education here at MLS. We
have a very established parent volunteer
program within the school.
5 or $50
To encourage parents to volunteer at Mission
Lutheran School, we have included a $50.00
charge at the time of registration. When a
parent fulfills at least 5 hours of volunteering
time, a one time $50.00 credit will be given
against tuition.
